February 2018 Timeshare Datashare

Length of Stay Among Points Owners

Provided by ARDA International Foundation

In the 2016 Shared Vacation Ownership Owners Survey, points owners were asked to indicate the length of stay for which they typically redeem their points.  Three quarters of points owners indicated that they typically stayed between 5-7 consecutive nights, while nearly two in five stayed between 2-4 consecutive nights.   Recent purchasers (who purchased a timeshare in 2013 or later and the purchase was an upgrade or reload) were significantly more likely to stay for one night at a time than recent purchasers (who purchased a timeshare in 2013 or later but the purchase was not an upgrade or reload) and non recent purchasers (who purchased a timeshare prior to 2013).
