Introduction and Overview

Mentoring is an ongoing relationship of learning, dialogue, and challenge. It entails informal communication during a sustained period of time between a mentor who is perceived to have knowledge, wisdom, and experience that are of benefit to his/her protégé.

Why is ARDA creating a mentoring program?

ARDA is creating a mentoring program to further professional competencies and industry knowledge among members. As the trade organization that supports vacation ownership at-large and its continual growth, mentoring is seen as a crucial element to maintain the health and well-being of our members, their companies, and the larger shared ownership industry.

What is the purpose of the program?

The mentoring program is a voluntary, informal, mutually beneficial mentoring relationship among ARDA-WIN members for the purpose of furthering professional competencies and industry knowledge.         The program is designed to provide a source for interested mentors and protégés to connect with one another, as well as a repository for tools and resources that may be helpful in starting, maintaining, or culminating mentoring relationships.

Who will benefit from the program?

Those who will benefit from the program include anyone wishing to expand their knowledge and understanding about our industry and wish to learn from others.

Who is eligible to participate in the program?

Current individual and corporate ARDA-WIN members in good standing are all eligible to participate in the program and access the resources. Members take an active role in identifying their mentor/protégé, maintaining their public status, and defining/participating in their mentoring agreement with their mentor/protégé.

What can you expect to get out of the program?

Whether you are a mentor or a protégé, you will get out of the program what you put into it. The
